Subject: My conversation with Brenda

Brenda initially called Cindy and asked for Kelly. Cindy put her on hold and asked Maeghan and I what to do. We both advised her to just forward the call to Dan which she did. A few minutes later, Brenda called back (about 11:15 AM on 6.13.19) and I answered the phone this time. She asked what Kelly’s email address was and I told her to just email cityrecorder@cityofmolalla.com. She then asked if she didn’t have a kellyr or krichardson email at which point I told her that Kelly no longer worked here. She asked me if I knew where she went and I said no, that she was just no longer here.

Brenda then commented that “they” treat women awful here. She said she was fired for asking a company that she was inspecting if they had a business license. She told me she has a new job but that she was suing the city for wrongful discharge.

She then made several comments regarding Gerald – that she really liked working for him but warned me not to get on his bad side. Said she didn’t know what she did to get on it, but once you’re on it, he makes your job miserable.

She told me if “they” ever fired me, she would be a witness for me. She said she has a hearing coming up and wondered if I’d be a witness for her. I changed the conversation and wished her good luck. Asked her if she needed anything else and then got off the phone with her.
