One would be to change the terminology from “ supervise” to something like “provide direction on day to day activities” or some such terminology, and; Make specific exclusions in the job description that describe what the lead worker may not do. For example: “Lead workers are not authorized to initiate or implement any type of disciplinary action.” “Lead workers do not have the authority to approve overtime, approve discretionary time off, “……….. and so on and so forth.
