All – A reminder regarding purchase authority. The following is our authorized purchase authority as stated in our purchasing policy for budgeted or daily functions:

City Manager $100,000

Public Works Director $5,000

Police Chief $5,000

Finance Director $5,000

City Recorder $5,000

Library Director $5,000

Operations Supervisor $1,000

Please remember that no other employee has authority to purchase anything unless approved by the appropriate Department Head. There also is no stand-in policy. “If the Department Head is not available, then the 2nd in command can sign”. No, the purchase or payment will need to wait or obtain a signature from the CM. The Finance Director will be developing a summary policy after Christmas.
