Subject: RE: Notes from 3/9/17 Mtg regarding OR211: OR213 to Ona Way

Dan,

I read their modifications to the STIP. The way it is currently written does not leave much flexibility to take advantage of unused funds on the project and is prohibitive for taking advantage of opportunities to complete the network. If there is not enough money to go past the east limits of the project then I would not pursue it, but I am not ready to give up any of our funding without trying to maximize these safety improvements.

For the scope changes I agree with the first 3 bulleted items. I would like to see the fourth bulleted item changed to the following:

· Continue with an Asphalt Path (8ft) separated by a buffer instead of a sidewalk from the new creek crossing / bridge to the east limits of the project, as identified in Exhibit “A” – Project Location Map in Agreement 30502.

I would like to see a fifth bulleted item added:

· The balance of unused funding for this project, if any, shall be utilized to the fullest extent to continue bike and pedestrian improvements from the east end of the project limits to the intersection of Hezzie Lane, completing the pedestrian and bicycle connection from Hezzie Lane to the Hwy 213.

Dan and Gerald- Thanks for meeting with us today.

All - Attached please find the draft notes (Thanks Kelly) from the meeting today regarding OR 211: OR213 to Ona Way.

Other discussion- ODOT and the City will restart discussions regarding a crossing near Hezzie that were put on hold earlier. Rich will have ODOT staff see if there are other options in addition to the west side of Hezzie pedestrian island that was previously discussed with the City. ODOT will contact the City to meet to discuss this further.
