All – We can discuss this more but here is m Policy on closures:
If we close City Hall or the Library the people scheduled to work need to use vacation time in order to receive a full pay check. Part-time employees will not be paid for time not worked. If you are snowed in and cannot make it in to work then an employee should use their vacation accrual in order to receive a full pay check. This is all similar to a staff person who is ill. They use sick time.
For Example – The Library was closed yesterday. Employees with vacation time should use their vacation time for that day. Part-time employees will not be paid for the hours not worked. Just so you all know, there is not much wiggle room in my mind about this. If we need to talk more let me know.
