FYI. Will set a goal of 5 per year but it is voluntary until we reach a point where it is mandatory after we’ve installed a new sewer system.

Terrific!

Thanks for the summary below and the attached CIP. As a reminder, I would like to review the letter sent to residents before it goes out since DEQ will be cc’d. Also, DEQ would like to see the success measures you set for the project of disconnecting rain drains and fixing old laterals. Having something that both of us use to track progress would be very useful.

Thanks!!

Subject: Molalla Wastewater CIP and I&I Program

Hi Tiffany,

Please see attached CIP for the wastewater system.

As discussed on the phone, we will be developing a program as part of our ongoing I&I program to have property owners disconnect rain drains and replace sewer laterals to help reduce I&I in our older sections of Molalla. We are still in the early stages of this program and will be creating a letter to inform property owners about this cost sharing program and that there will be funds available for this work on a yearly basis. We will pair with capital projects where needed and will also have funds available, on a first come first served basis, to promote a reduction in I&I. There is some planning and project prioritizing that needs to be done and we will share information with you as we develop this program. We will also be seeking input from you as we move forward with this program. Thanks again for continuing to support our efforts in removing I&I from our systems. Have a good weekend.
