Nancy wanted me to send this to you for review prior to sending out the attached WLOTC.
It was reported by Buckley law, representing Von Family Limited Partnership, that a release has happened at one of the Partnership’s properties in Yamhill County. Von Logging Company operated 3 UST’s at the above referenced site. The UST database shows one was removed and the other two tanks were filled in place in 1980; no release was recorded. The RP is a trust comprised of family members. A group of them are concerned that there is contamination discovered at the site indicating a release from the tank(s) on the property of the (former) logging company (Von Logging Co.). The logging company is out of business, but the property is still owned by the family trust. Purportedly, site assessment activity was performed by Maul Foster recently who indicates there was a release on the property. We do not have that data at this time, but the attached letter and attachments shows the email from Maul Foster about the suspected release. It should have been reported.
According to our Enforcement Guidance, the appropriate response from DEQ is a WLOTC. I’ve drafted a letter, and I’d like you to review it before I send it out. I will await your response before moving forward with this.
