Subject: Drinking Water System Update
Importance: Normal
Hi Darlene,
For posting to website and Facebook
“Some reports have come in regarding taste and odor in the City’s drinking water. Staff has verified that the treatment plant is meeting all drinking water requirements and the system’s chlorine residuals are good. The taste and odor is attributed to several days of heavy smoke in our area and users exposure to that smoke. Air quality in our area is still over 500 ppm and considered hazardous to breathe. Limit your exposure to outside air and wear your mask if you do have to go outside. To help maintain air quality in your home, limit trips in and out of exterior doorways.
In an effort to protect our stormwater systems and streams, we are continuing to ask all property owners not to washdown driveways and sidewalks into the street and storm system. Rain showers will arrive over the next few days and will slowly wash ash and other debris away. We have been and are continuing to meet the firefighting demands on our water system. Thank you for your continued cooperation in conserving water for firefighting activities within the Molalla area. Gerald Fisher, Public Works Director”
Thanks and let me know when it is up.
Regards,
Gerald Fisher, P.E. | Public Works Director
