Keeping logs of anyone with prolonged exposure/close contact is encouraged but not required. If you are screening or keeping a log for any reason, ensure you are not breaking medical privacy laws. WA State client log info: I did find a memo from the State of Washington, they are no longer requiring logs for businesses, but may do so voluntarily. Here is like link: https://www.governor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/COVID19CustomerLogMemo.pdf?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery and a link to a template: https://www.governor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/COVID19VoluntarilyCustomerVisitorLogTemplate.pdf Close contact definition: I received a question today about what is considered a close contact. Based on this Interim Investigative Guidelines document from OHA from May 1, 2020, (page 13) a close contact is: Close contact: ∙ Being within 6 feet of a COVID-19 case for a prolonged period of time. CDC has not defined “prolonged,” but for purposes of LPHA investigation we are arbitrarily drawing the line at ≥15 minutes; persons exposed for shorter periods may be considered “close contacts” at LPHA discretion. “Close” contact can include caring for, living with, visiting, or sitting within 6 feet of a confirmed COVID-19 patient; or ∙ Having direct contact with infectious secretions of a COVID-19 case (e.g., being coughed on). Note: “healthcare personnel exposure” is defined as the provision of patient care to or prolonged, close contact with a COVID-19 case without appropriate personal protective equipment. Be sure to follow up on any EMS contact with the case when notified by OHA Thank you, Jamie Poole Outreach and Technology Coordinator Pronouns: she/her/hers Clackamas County Disaster Management | 2200 Kaen Road, Oregon City, OR 97045 503-278-9150 (cell) | Jpoole@clackamas.us |www.clackamas.us/dm Follow Clackamas County: Facebook | Twitter | YouTube Follow Disaster Management: Facebook | Twitter Sign up for Public Alerts: www.publicalerts.org/signup
