Hi, Here is today’s FEMA Region Ten Update -5-5-20

Subject: RX Public Assistance COVID-19 FEMA Daily Update 5.5.2020

Good afternoon,

Short and quick update for today. Please keep letting us know how we can assist you.

US Treasury Coronavirus Relief Fund Eligible Expenditures Q&A: FYSA – attached is additional information from the U.S. Department of Treasury on eligible expenditures for the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF).

NCS update: We continue to process NCS initial approval and extension requests, keep them coming; we don’t want our NCS team to get bored! We are getting some questions about disposition requirements for applicants who have acquired real property as part of their NCS activities, and we are working to get some clarification on those requirements from HQ.

Policy coming soon: We are still waiting for the medical costs policy update, and we are also hearing that we should be seeing a fact sheet soon on the eligibility of keeping temporary and expanded medical facilities minimally operational when COVID-19 cases diminish and a temporary or expanded medical facility is not in use, but may be needed again at a later date.

Local hire update: Selections are almost complete for our local hires in all four states; once the selections are completed we’ll work though the onboarding process, which will probably take a few weeks. The training team is excited to start them on the training plan they’ve developed as soon as they virtually arrive. Please let us know any questions on this, and we’re also happy to share the training plan with anyone who has a need to train new folks on PA COVID policy or processes.

Blog posts, websites, flyers and rumor control: We have had a few questions regarding some material (blog posts, websites, emails, flyers) generated by lobbyists and consultants that produce material on PA, the CARES Act, and more. Jurisdictions should be very cautious about what sources of information they trust. We are not able to advise on funding that may be available under authorities or programs of other agencies. Both Treasury and HHS have comprehensive COVID-19 relief websites:

No new documents posted from HQ as of 5/5/2020:

Thank you for all your continued efforts in helping the nation before, during and after disasters. As new information becomes available, we will do our best to make this information as accessible as possible.
