This email is to follow up on the question this morning about the potential of fire districts banning backyard burning to help limit respiratory issues during this time. Canby Fire had mentioned they had already issued a burn ban.

On the Fire Defense Board (FDB) call this afternoon it was recommended fire districts decide independently if they need to do this, and it will be an item added to next Thursday’s FDB meeting to discuss further. If you have concerns please reach out to your fire district/department directly. I will add an agenda item on our 4/14 call so that Chief Davis can provide an update from the 4/9 FDB meeting.
