Also, fees are required for new sidewalk.

Chapter 12.16 SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION

12.16.020 Permit—Required fee.

Any person desiring to build a sidewalk shall obtain from the City Manager or designate a permit to do so in conformity with the provisions of this chapter. The fee for such permit shall be set by the City Council by resolution. (Ord. 1991-3 §4; Ord. 163 §6, 1939)

So, there is none for sidewalk maintenance and repair but there is for new sidewalk. Just so you know.

Hi Brenda,

The language looks good. Please copy and paste into our official letterhead and then work with Christie to send out certified. In answer to your question about the charge for the PW permit, had she come in to take out a permit in the beginning then we could have done a no fee permit. After the fact we charged her a fee. I will add this to the list of cleanup items in the code to include a no fee initially followed by a full fee after the fact. Thanks.

Here you go. The code language mentions that the sidewalk permit is free – I charged her $125 for the permit.
