Officer Call,

Here are your code references:

12.12.010 Adoption of design and construction specifications.

This code references the public works standards which are adopted as enforceable by city code.

Applicable standard is 2.2.25 Sight Distance on pg 68. These requirements are mirrored in the community design standards in the development portion of the code. Though that code pertains to permanent structures the specs are the same and drawings there give a good representation of what the design standards require.

17-3.3.030 Vehicular Access and Circulation

As for 110 Mathias – I am also getting frequent calls on this property. On the code side, you can let people know that the owner has been cited into Municipal Court for junk and inoperable vehicles with an appearance date set for mid-June. We sent multiple notices with no response and, obviously, no improvement.

I’m discussing the situation with the City prosecutor shortly after I send this. Chances are they’re a no show and I want to talk through more intensive remedies.

Best,

Zinder

Dan,

Can you help me find any applicable city code which addresses storage of property on private property constituting a hazard? Ace seemed put out by being asked to move the containers. They’re out this morning, but it looks like they were set out to get dumped. I’d like to follow up today and make sure they understand possible penalties if they refuse to comply in the future.

Thanks!

On another note, do you have any updates on 110 Mathias? They are clearly in violation of multiple ordinances, and the PD is getting multiple complaints on the property.

I spoke to responsible parties for both the mentioned issues. They assured me they would be corrected by the end of the day.

Liota,

I will have Sgt Call check the safety hazard and make contact if he sees one exists. We can also check that abandoned vehicle.

Hello Frank,

At the corner of Center Street and Heintz, Ace Hardware has set their trash bins out so far that the view is obstructed. When on Center Street, ready to turn on Heintz, I have to get out past the sign and pedestrian crossing marks to see oncoming traffic from the left. I left word for Debbie Drake three or four weeks ago but nothing changed.

Also on Heintz, just west of Grange, a white pickup with wooden side boards has been parked in the same place for several months. It is never moved so most likely broken down.

These are things I've been meaning to report to you for quite a while now.

Thank you,
