I looked on the County’s site and couldn’t find any permits pulled and there’s nothing on our end...

K. In summary, I have no records of this ever going through planning for approvals on the addition and our standards do not allow for a secondary driveway. Brenda Reiner issued an approval without anyone’s knowledge as far as I can tell and not in accordance with the Public Works Standards. First things first. Find out if they had planning approvals for the addition then find out if they had permits with Building. If no Planning permits then I will discuss with Dan H about the removal of the driveway. The City may have to pay for it because an approval was issued by an employee of the City.

Gerald,

I need to circle back on this one. The reporter did not give an address and we’d been looking at properties west of Stowers that were also in violation but as our conversation has proceeded I’ve realized that the initial complaint was regarding 810 E 8th ST.

In any event, she sent the pic below. In this case, the homeowner did receive a permit to have their sole access off of 8th ST (and I will want to make sure they’re not still parking in the front drive). The owner is dumping in the ROW and has not received any permits from the City. Should I proceed with a certified letter informing them of their folly?

One last question/concern, does my name stay anonymous? I do not want any hostility in my neighborhood

Alexandria,

I have forwarded this piece on to our Public Works Department to consider. As they were not authorized to use that access to begin with… I doubt it.

Sorry to bother you again but are you able to tell me if the demolition and reconstruction of the sidewalk that he did is up to code? Was it even approved by the city before he started the project?

Hi Alexandria,

The City’s case is based on the illicit access on 8th St, for which the property owner has been cited into Molalla Municipal Court. I went by today and confirmed the access still to be in use and will add your recent report and pics from today to our court files.

The other pieces (parking/traffic issues) are not necessarily violations. Continuous parking on the street would be restricted to a 3 day period per City code. However, the increased congestion is due to the primary code issue that they were never allowed to use the rear as an access to begin with. If you believe parking code has been violated, please contact non-emergency dispatch at 503-655-8211.

Best,

Hello there I just wanted to touch base and see what’s going on with the complaint I sent over to you guys. Since then there has been a lot of traffic on my street with the resident at that address parking all of his vehicles and construction work equipment on our street and limiting Space for the garbage companies and bus companies to come through.

Hi Alexandria,

The City has received your report and has looked into the matter.

Using 8th ST as an access was prohibited in the conditions of the project and the City will be undertaking enforcement action. These processes can sometimes take awhile to complete but our initial contacts will be made this week.

Thank you,
