Mac
Looks like I must have messed up on the once per month note in the meeting minutes, so please remove that from the ’next meeting’ section and place into the next agenda as a new business item.
Cheers!

Minutes:
Call to order: 5pm
Attendees: Dave J, Roxie S, Leota C
Topic: Art Contest
No feedback on the status of the Art Contest entries and sponsors.
Topic: Mural Code
We would like to keep major projects to just one (1). It would be great if we could knock off the mural codes by taking existing code documents from other already implemented communities and quickly format into an acceptable proposal to the city council for implementation, as it seems the work on hammering out details has already been done. If we can get this going, it will open the doors for more beautification projects this next year. Liz is our point person for this.
Topic: Gateway signage
We would like this as our major project. Would like to get a proposal into the city council in time for the next budget cycle. Dave J has collected our current ideas into a draft document for us to consider moving forward and turn into an acceptable proposal for the city council. Mac C should help guide us on the details for moving forward.
Topic: Destination Oregon
Our contribution is over for this project. Some review and thoughts were shared on our experiences and the direction chosen.
New Business:
Flowers… we want flowers in town. These would be the most visible effort of community beautification we could easily do in the short term. The Chamber is the main coordinator for this effort (Connie). Pots are the easiest while hangers are the most desirable. Some implementation challenges were discussed. Might need Mac C to help sort out the barriers and suggest a path forward.
Garden Party… The previous Arts Committee had organized an artist garden party for local artists to socialize and get to know what’s going on in the community. This would be another opportunity to increase visibility of the Beautification & Culture Committee that we could do right now. Dave to check with Carrol W of Out in the Garden Nursery to see if we can work out something this year.
City Representative:
With Julie L leaving, who will be the city’s representative for the committee? (Mac C to reveal).
Next Meeting: April 12th 5pm Tuesday Ivor Davies Hall, and just meeting once a month thereafter.
Adjournment: 6 pm
Cheers!
