Good question.
Are they thinking the other tanks are not heating oil?
In my opinion it is easier for them (site owners) if they have HOT and non-HOT USTs to have separate LUST numbers. The HOT can be closed by certification through our HOT program and the other USTs (if there is contamination associated) can be handled through the LUST/cleanup program.
We can and have had LUST sites with both HOTs and non-HOTs under one LUST number, they just need to update us if they find contamination not associated with the discovered HOT.
I also suggest checking in with Gerald Gamolo, he likely has experience with a site like this and getting it into the LUST database correctly.

Eric there was an old residential heating oil tank with a release discovered during construction work on a Trimet cleanup site of mine. They are going to report it but we are wondering if they discover additional tanks with releases would those be reported and then handled under the same LUST number or would they be assigned a new number?
