Action item: Proposed order granting temporary variances from certain asbestos requirements for cleanup activities on properties burned by the 2020 wildfires DEQ will propose an order for commission review and approval. The proposed order would allow two specific kinds of temporary variances from certain regulations related to the management and disposal of asbestos-containing materials and waste materials that must be cleaned up following catastrophic wildfires across Oregon in August and September 2020. B. Action item: 2020 Wildfire Response, Solid Waste Letter Authorization Waivers and Exemptions (Temporary rules) DEQ will propose temporary rules that would allow for waivers and exemptions to existing Solid Waste Letter Authorization requirements. The proposed temporary rules would support previous Executive Orders and help expedite the efficient and safe removal, management and disposal of debris from the catastrophic wildfires across Oregon in August and September 2020.
