Jennifer-I am here at 7AM, then in a meeting from 8:30- 10:00.
My basic questions are….
1-The 6” water meter and backflow vaults, along Molalla Avenue, are flooded. Would that be an ongoing issue for a tenant of the site to deal with, or do those devices belong to the City?
2-Are the meter and backflow device functional and to current standard?
3-Do you know if there are any City meter records that would indicate if the site was served with domestic water, from a smaller meter (rather than via the 6”?)
3-My best guess is the site sewer pump station discharges to the manhole at Hart/7th…can you or your crews confirm this? I believe the discharge is a white PVC pipe, 2 ½” diameter. Do you expect any particular service/flow limitations at this location?
4-Mark at Molalla Fire District provided a fire hydrant flow report to us. It seems to be related to the 12” main at some distance from the site. Would Mark be the one to contact to get another test?
I may have a few more, but that’s it for now…

Hi Dave,
It was nice meeting you as well. I’m actually going to forward some of the questions below onto our GIS Technician, Dan Zinder, for Molalla’s existing water, sewer and storm infrastructure plans and data. What I can say is we don’t have a good idea what was onsite at the property. We have been working over the last 2 years to develop GIS layers of the City’s infrastructure and Dan Zinder can provide you with up to date files of what we do know that is adjacent to the properties.
In regards to the fire hydrant flow data, Mike Penunuri at the local Molalla Fire District can help answer your last question. I believe Mike recently flow tested the hydrant off Shaver and should have the data available. The GIS layers that Dan will provide also have hydrant locations included if an additional location near 7th St. needs to be flow tested.
I will work with our Public Works Supervisor, Dennis Welle, to address your pump station questions. However, in the last 2-3 years the City replaced both pumps and upgraded the transformer for the S. Molalla Lift Station through PGE. I’m certain we have two (2) 5-HP pumps in that lift station today.

Jennifer-It was nice meeting with you, Nick, and Dan last week. I am now starting to pull my research together, and I am looking for some plan information that I hope you have on hand…
1-Plans for the pump station at Molalla Ave/Bear Creek, including any known gravity pipes feeding into the wetwell
2-Capacity information for the pump station, along with any known problems. As of now, I am predicting 700-1,000 gallons per day from the proposed uses.
3-Plans for the water mains near Section/Settler, including location and size of the master meter (with backflow device?) that had served the property.
4-Would the City or local fire district have fire hydrant flow data near the master meter?
Whatever you might have that could be scanned and sent to me would be very helpful. I also plan on another site visit, early/mid next week, if it would be better for me to stop by and review documents at your office….let me know what is best
