Please take a look at the conditions of approval. He has a lot more to do than the sewer. In order to connect to the sewer he will need to submit it as part of the street improvement plans. The SDC’s will need to be paid before he can connect. Thanks.

Gerald,

I’m wondering about how to calculate the permit fees for this? He paid the SDC for the water connection and the $600 connection fee but hasn’t paid anything for the sewer and I don’t have an engineers estimate to calculate the permit. Are you going to calculate SDC’s or do we just charge the sewer SDC and connection fee?

Hi Aldo,

Once you’ve done your approval from Planning then you can OK the building permit. The County will need to know that we will not allow issuance of a temporary occupancy until we receive a bond for construction and a final occupancy until we have signed off on the public improvements. I’m being nice by allowing them to start building but my generosity will go only so far. The applicant will need to play straight and follow all of the rules going forward or we may rescind this offer to relax our requirements based on this situation.

Note that if folks in the community continue the approach that this applicant has taken, move forward and ask for forgiveness later, then the restrictions on the entire development community will become more difficult and less flexible in the future.

Hey Gerald,

Question. Would they have to submit engineered plans for the public improvements before we would issue the building permit? Or can we issue building permit and hold off on CofO until they have the improvements done?
