They do need a cover over it to keep out rainfall. Interesting since I have an email from Mitch back on May 23 saying it is connected to the storm system. They need to connect to the sewer if it is connected to the storm. I will send you the two emails that MRM sent to me. Thanks.

Subject: FW: Knife River (formerly MRM) truck wash

Gerald,

Tim Marshall, from Knife River, stopped by and wants help making sure the truck wash is legitimate. I found the land use file for this addition and it was called an accessory structure, and it was an 8000 SF shop with a large concrete wash pad and drain system into the sewer. The plans show on sheet C2 a stormwater infiltrator from roof. I couldn’t find a detail of what happens to the water and I looked in the field and found the rain drains are connected to a small type of catch basin which may be the entrance into a system. SDC’s were paid on 3/12/15 $4600 Sewer and $3620 Water and $0 for Storm.

The issue Tim wants addressed here is the truck wash and making sure they aren’t in violation of any DEQ rules or other rules. Tim said he thinks the wash pad needs to have a roof over it to make it legal. I found an inspection report from the previous planner regarding the sewer connection to the main and the County gave the building a final in 2015.

Tim Marshall is the Manager of Land Planning for Knife River. His number is 541-953-4456
