Hi Gerald,

I stopped by City Hall to meet you in person but you were out to a lunch meeting. I just wanted to say thank you for your time on this and sorry for the confusion we're just getting mixed signals from different people. I guess the contractor called you that we had come in and he was supposed to just bid from the meter to the house and had different information. So I just wanted to say sorry for the confusion and the time is taken on what should be such a simple project.

If you could just verify that the city crew does take care of the digging covering and tapping from the main to the meter box I can share that information with the property owner.

Thank you again for your time have a great day

Thank you for your response.

So just to clarify the property owners have not paid their STC fees because they were told something different from your worker that quit on Friday.

So my understanding to our conversation earlier is that the city will take care of the water tap from the main to the meter box for the fee of $600. You stated that the property owner is responsible from the meter box to the house hook up with a permit from the county and a plumber hooking it up. So when the property owner schedules to have the city crew do it they will come in and take care of uncovering it, tapping and setting the box and recovering it correct? Then the property owner will be responsible from the meter box to the house correct?

Hi Robin,

Based on our conversation, you stated the property owner came in and paid

their SDC fees for the water at 925 Toliver. There is one other fee for

$600 to cover the water hook-up fee. The property owner has the choice of

either having the City crews install the service from the main to the

meter or to have a contractor install the service from the main to the

meter and the City will inspect their work. The City will then set the

meter and meter box. The property owner will need to take out a plumbing

permit with Clackamas County, our contract building official, for

installation of the plumbing from the meter to the house.

The well on the property will need to be abandoned and paperwork submitted

to the Oregon State Drinking Water program with a copy to the City.

I have already spoken with the Maintenance Division and they will schedule

the work as soon as they receive notice from City Hall to install the

service. Please note that sometime later this year we may be changing our

procedures to eliminate installation of the service by City staff and

require that the work be performed by a license and bonded contractor and

inspected by the City. We are not there yet and will issue an official

notice when that change is made. For now, the process listed at the

beginning of this email is still the current requirements. Thank you for

contacting me and let me know if you have any further questions.
