Hi Robin,

Based on our conversation, you stated the property owner came in and paid

their SDC fees for the water at 925 Toliver. There is one other fee for

$600 to cover the water hook-up fee. The property owner has the choice of

either having the City crews install the service from the main to the

meter or to have a contractor install the service from the main to the

meter and the City will inspect their work. The City will then set the

meter and meter box. The property owner will need to take out a plumbing

permit with Clackamas County, our contract building official, for

installation of the plumbing from the meter to the house.

The well on the property will need to be abandoned and paperwork submitted

to the Oregon State Drinking Water program with a copy to the City.

I have already spoken with the Maintenance Division and they will schedule

the work as soon as they receive notice from City Hall to install the

service. Please note that sometime later this year we may be changing our

procedures to eliminate installation of the service by City staff and

require that the work be performed by a license and bonded contractor and

inspected by the City. We are not there yet and will issue an official

notice when that change is made. For now, the process listed at the

beginning of this email is still the current requirements. Thank you for

contacting me and let me know if you have any further questions.
