Also, what address are they connecting? If they are connecting the address they were the registered owner of in 2014 (at annexation time) then they are entitled to the SDC reduction for sewer and water only. The other SDC’s would be full cost. BUT if they are hooking up the father-in-laws place, they were not the registered owner in July 2014 and they would not be entitled to an SDC reduction of any kind. Council was very clear the SDC reduction was to the registered owner as of July 2014 and not transferrable to a new owner.

In addition, a condition of the SDC reduction they had to provide proof of that the water well was de-commissioned or the septic drain field being turned off. As this water well serviced both homes – the proof of de-commission will provide the home the resided in as of July 2014 with a SDC discount but if they are connected the father in laws home then there is no discount available. The de-commissioning will stop well water for both homes so why are not required to connect both homes to our system.

Gerald,

What about the other SDC’s, do we charge them for storm, parks, and transportation?

Hi Brenda,

I spoke with Mr. Cruikshank today and he is going to have a contractor come in to take out a permit to install the water and sewer service to make it within the July 9th deadline to get 50% discount on water and sewer SDC’s. Attached is an SDC calculation. His wife will come in to pay the SDC’s and connections fees at one time. Connection for water is $600 and connection for sewer is $600. I let him know that he will be required to get a permit from ODOT for connections in the roadway. When they come in to pay it will be a good time to get them to set up a utility account that can become active once the meter is set. Thanks.

Gerald,

A resident came to the counter today regarding an annexed property at 909 w main. He would like to have you or Dan call him to explain why we are forcing him to connect to sewer and water and making him pay SDC’s for sewer and water. He also said that there may be some discounted connection rates the city council mentioned in 2014 (July 9 session) if they connected sooner.

Can you please give him a call?

Are there any discounts we can apply for him?
