This is all good to know. Also, I’ve always found (in previous places of employment) that public charter schools or school districts are very uncomfortable with paying SDCs. It usually gets political. That’s why I’m raising the issue early. Any advice or past experiences about this would be helpful.

Don’t remember them coming in for this. Caterpillar daycare was in before. They are not exempt from Transportation SDC’s for the change in use from church space to school. They show as a public charter school and we want to make sure that Caterpillar is not part of the use. It will get squishy really quick. Also, change in use will likely have improvement impacts to bring it up to standards. Thanks.

As mentioned in our phone call, the zoning for Grace Church (901 N Molalla) schools are a conditional use in the R1 zone. In addition to design review, this change of use would also require a conditional use permit in this zone.
If and when you are ready to proceed a good first step would be to go through our pre-application meeting. That would allow you sitdown time with Planning, Public Works, and Fire – potentially building in this case - to discuss the requirements for this project.
During COVID restrictions, we are available for remote meetings.
