Hi Janis,
I spoke with Nicolas regarding the requirement to connect listed in our City code. You won’t have to extend the public sewer to the end of the property, but in order to comply with the code requirement and provide for a private force main you would be required to install a manhole at the end of the existing public sewer main and run a private force main from your property to that manhole. This is a less expensive alternative to extending the public main and the main is only 4.4 feet deep at the north end of the line. In order to determine the costs of this type of system, you’ll need to consult with a civil engineer, licensed in the state of Oregon, to assess your system and develop a cost estimate for the private system. They can meet with me to review a preliminary plan and then ultimately submit a stamped set of construction plans to move forward with the sewer connection project. Let me know if you have any questions or if you need to meet with me to discuss the process in more detail. Thanks.

We are wondering what the depth of the sewer line will be at our property line where we will have to hook up. This will help us know if we have to install a sewer ejection pump system.

Hope you had a good 4th of July holiday. I never received any more information on the depth of the sewer line on Molalla Avenue in front of the church. Would like to get all the information together for our board meeting next week. Thank. Jan Bennington

Hi Jan,
The flowline elevation for the manhole at the intersection of Thunderbird and N. Molalla is 56” to the top of asphalt. The line extends north 99’ to a lamp hole, but we were unable to verify the depth because the line sweeps.
I will check with our GIS tech to see if he can locate plans for that sewer line and get back to you if he locates any additional information.
Best Regards,
