Attachments: image002.jpg; image003.jpg; Steven, The City has made a note of the party line and when we replace the sewer line main we will separate the lines ourselves at a future date. We don’t view it as a big deal. This was allowed by the City in the past (bad idea) and they shouldn’t be penalized for our predecessors decisions back in the day. There is no defect in the lateral – the problem is the party connection. A defect may be a slipped gasket or similar structural problem. A shared connection is not a structural defect and the City will not fix this. I can see how this led to some confusion. Thanks, Received! Ryan, based on our conversation, if the defect in the sewer lateral is in the Right-of-way (past the property line) than according to code the City is responsible for repairs. However, we will only tackle such an issue if it’s causing a problem, either in terms of flow for the customer, or causing inflow/infiltration.
