Hi Mark,

You will need to go through Planning first to start the pre-app process. This time I will respond to your questions but without a pre-app so we can see what you are doing this is subject to change and I assume you are only going to propose a single family home. I have not looked at grades, drainage, or wetland considerations in this response.

You can do an engineered drywell, pumped system to weep hole, or surface WQ with discharge to a drainageway. The drainageway must be on your property or a private drainage easement will be required. At no time can stormwater from a drywell or surface WQ facility drain onto neighboring properties without an easement. Hope that answers your questions.

Subject: 621 E. Main Street Property - Storm Water Treatment for Residential Lot

Hello Gerald,

I have a quick question regarding storm water treatment for my client’s lot.

In reading your development standards and permit requirements, I see where we are allowed to run our storm water through a weephole in the curb. Our issue is that we don’t have the ability to do this without pumping which is not a preferred option.

I see where the city is open to LID’s and I was curious as to whether the city would allow an infiltration pond or rain garden for treatment and then allow us to discharge to the creek in the back of the property. Would you please let me know if this is an acceptable alternative to pumping?

Much appreciated!

Mark
