Importance: Normal

Hi Carl,

You will need to conform to subsection 1.17.13 of Molalla Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction. You might want to think about scheduling your pour later in the morning, to allow heavy morning traffic to dissipate. Due to the school bus route, parents dropping off kids and kids crossing at Toliver. You will also need sidewalk closures in place to redirect pedestrian traffic around the work zone. Let me know if you have any questions.

1.17.13 Work in Public Rights-of-Way

a. Closure of public streets shall be in conformance with Subsection 1.17.10, “Traffic Maintenance and Safety,” and Subsection 1.17.11, “Access for Police, Fire, and Postal Service.” Construction operations and traffic control shall be in conformance with Subsection 1.17.10, “Traffic Maintenance and Safety.”

b. The contractor shall use every reasonable precaution to safeguard the persons and property of the traveling public. It shall be the sole responsibility of the contractor to furnish, place, and maintain barricades, barriers, lights, flares, danger signals, signs, and security guards as necessary to protect the persons and property of the traveling public. All barricades and obstructions shall be protected at night by signal lights that shall be suitably distributed and kept burning from sunset to sunrise.

Subject: 609 Molalla Ave. Traffic Control

Hi Sam,

We are working on a driveway replacement project at 609 N. Molalla Ave which requires us to place a Concrete truck and concrete line pump along the curb in front of this residence. There is no shoulder on this side of the road which will require us to be in traffic for about an hour at two separate occasions. Currently concrete is scheduled for 7am on any sunny day next week (all we can do is hope) but we can be flexible with pour times if it helps simplify traffic control. I would like to discuss a traffic control plan with you and my Forman Miles, when you have an opportunity to stop by. We will be on site all day today and tomorrow.

Thank you,

Carl George
