Hi Karina,
The 7 foot wing is to meet ADA with a conservative length. The design length is actually 6 feet but no concrete worker can meet the 1:12 slope requirement. You could drop the wing width down to 6.5 feet and reduce the driveway to 10 feet and we would give you an exception for the going below the standard provided that the business/property owner is OK and can utilize the reduced width. The only other option if a wider driveway is needed for business purposes is to relocate the PGE pole which is costly. Let me know what your client wants to do. Thanks.

Subject: 124 Berkley Project - Driveway
Hi Gerald,
Per our conversation Friday, I have been looking at how to add a driveway to the 124 Berkley project. When we spoke, we were thinking we could get a driveway in between the power pole and the west property line. However, the pole is actually 26' from the property line. Even if I were to have them build the smallest 12 foot wide residential driveway, the 7' required Normals on either side of the driveway would put the concrete into the center of the power pole. Do you have an alternative options for me? Are there any exceptions to the 7' Normals or 12' minimum driveway?
Please see the attached sketch. I've bubbled the area I am speaking of.
Thank you,
Karina
