FYI, Per City Standards & Municipal Code:

 

D. Installation of Meters and Meter Boxes:

 

 3. Meters shall not be installed until the entire water system is ready for operation, the

 system has been tested and approved, and water meter permit(s) have been obtained from the City of Molalla Building Division.

 

 4. The remainder of the service connection, excluding the meter, may be installed at any time during or after construction of the main. Before the meter is connected, the  angle valve shall be opened and the service line flushed of all foreign materials, and shall be properly tested and chlorinated.

 

13.04.110 Water service—Connection and meter required.

A. Each dwelling or building, or building complex under the same ownership shall be provided with its own water service connection and meter. Multifamily dwellings and other multi-occupancy units under the same ownership shall be provided with one meter, unless the customer requests and pays for additional meters.

 

B. No person shall furnish water to either buildings or premises without making application for water service with the City, and then only under the specific terms of any such authorization which might be granted.

Regarding #1 of your email, there are connection fees and a utility service deposit that are owing for the project. The sewer connection fee is $600, the water connection fee is $600 and the utility service deposit is $100. The utility service deposit is refundable after 12 consecutive on-time bill payments. Please see the attached.

 

Sam has advised me that the plumbing has not been installed at the property to his knowledge. Typically, we don't install the meter until the plumbing is in on your side. Sam also said he has yet to inspect the meter box, etc. on your side and we can't install the meter until his inspection is completed. He said to have Cody coordinate that with him.

 

Sam was surprised you wanted the meter this early in the project. Please be advised that once we install the meter, you have to pay a monthly water & sewer bill. In your case, the water base, sewer base, sewer usage and storm drain charges for the property will be $167.20 per month plus any water usage charges you incur.

 

Regarding the address issue, the changes have now been made.

#1 .. asking to have meter for duplex project (118 A&B N Cole) connected to city water line this week … plumber will be on site Friday to check water line pressure etc. So please confirm that the meter Can be connected prior to 10/23/21. We believe this account/meter is in our name but will stop by city hall later this afternoon to get any details verified.

 

Secondly ..please correct/update the billing address for the single family house that was formerly 118 N Cole Ave .. Maloy landlord, Rodriguez tenant .. to 120 N Cole Ave … we filled out and paid the $50 address change to city of Molalla several months ago, and were advised the City would contact all utility providers. Initial contact by phone earlier today to sewer water billing didn’t seem to indicate they had the 120 address change noted.
