I spoke with Alliks today and it sounds like he will be moving forward on this soon. He did give me lots of excuses to summarize: “The approved ramp is the same as what I would have installed anyway and they only delayed me.”

Inform Alliks Cam this morning that he will not be issued a permit for construction by the City on his subdivision or any future work until he completes this project and gets sign-off from ODOT. Issuance of permits is based on satisfactory performance of prior work. If he can’t get it done then he need to hire someone who can. There are consequences in Molalla for not following through on responsibilities.

Gerald, Your contractor is refusing to sign the permit and provide bond and insurance to work in state right of way. ORS 374.305 states that (1) No person, firm or corporation, may place build or construct on any state hwy without first obtaining written permission from ODOT. Your contractor tore out the ADA ramp without permission. If the hazard is not removed then ODOT reserves the right recover the expenses from any person, firm or corporation.
I am working on a letter unless you have an alternate solution through the city.
Ripping out this ADA ramp has created a safety problem and must be resolved.
