Alliks Cam was the contractor who built this house prior to my arrival at the City. The permit for a driveway was taken out back in 2015 and I am not sure why the connection wasnt made to the existing ramp. I have been in contact with him recently to coordinate the connection and completion of the sidewalk. I have no records that a condition to rebuild or modify the ramp were part of the planning approvals. If you have a copy of that and can send it to me then we have more leverage to get that work done. If not then the most I can have him do is connect into the edge of the ramp. It might not be a bad idea for representatives from both groups to meet with him at the site and find a solution that will work for all parties. In June a gentleman named Alex ((503) 871-3850) contacted me regarding some new homes he was building and wanted to match his new sidewalk to the old ADA ramp. Did this project go through your Development Review process? Did he obtain a city permit to install this sidewalk and did the city require that he attach to the ramp?
I left him a voice mail that he needed a permit if he were on ODOT right-of-way. I asked that he send me a set of engineered and stamped plans showing his sidewalk and grades required for the ADA ramp. I never heard from him. Now I see that he’s built his sidewalk and avoided the ADA ramp and left an unsafe abrupt edge on his sidewalk.
Please provide any documentation you may have regarding this development. Thank you!
