Hi Bobby,

Gerald and Sam work with the Engineers a lot more than I do, so I’ll let them fill you in on this. We can’t make a recommendation, but I Know we’ve worked well with AKS in the past and have seen good work from ARD recently. I hope this helps, and maybe the others have another idea for you.

Do you have a referral or recommendation for an engineer that I can reach out to regarding this type of project?

Thanks-

Hi Mr. Winterode,

I tried calling your phone several times but it remained silent then disconnected me each time. However, I was able to chat with Gerald Fisher, Public Works Director, upon his return this morning and have the input I needed to help guide your process.

  1. 1. Each neighbor will need to file for an individual grading permit (it’s the same permit for excavation, fills, and grades). The applications will need to include an engineered design to get drainage from one side to the other, similar to the drawing you provided, but fully evolved and stamped by an engineer. Each owner can submit the same drawing as it will run across all four properties… so you may want to speak to your neighbors about splitting the cost of engineering. The fill permit is an “other type 1” form available on the city’s forms page here: https://www.cityofmolalla.com/forms, under Planning Forms.

  1. 2. Once the city has reviewed and approved the grading permits you’ll need to take the approvals to the County and pull the appropriate permits from the County Building Codes Division. They will ultimately test the compaction of your fill to ensure it meets required standards. Upon completion, a condition of approval will be for you to provide the County approvals of the fill and compaction to the City for your file.

  1. 3. As an aside, continue working with DSL. We’ll need their approval in order to approve your grading/fill permit from item #1 above.

Let me know if you have any more questions, sorry for the phone tag.
