Alice,
It was good seeing you again yesterday. Stop by our office in Damascus sometime. I only work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from about 9:00AM to 5:00PM, so maybe call before you stop by.
I stopped by the Clackamas County Assessor’s Office yesterday on my way home and picked up the attached info on this site. I also called Rick McIntire in Planning this AM, and he stated that County zoning did not come in until the 70’s, depending exactly where the property was located. However, in any case, it appears the units were built in 1951, per the Appraisal sheet, which is from 1996. They show 4 units on that sheet. Also, the Record of Description shows a “Molalla Trans Dist Ord 089-230, and a Unification Molalla No. 4, also, which tells me it was in Molalla at that time. No sure if one of those is an annexation, or what. In any case, the duplexes were built before zoning and before they were in the City of Molalla. Let me know if you need any more info from me.
