Hi Sam,

Upsizing the water service on the public side does not present an issue for planning purposes. The non-conforming development and use code do not restrict this activity and it does not trigger any planning process. Planning approves upsizing the public side water line subject to public works application and approval. Thank you.

Good Afternoon Teresa,

At this point not able to move forward with upsizing water service, Since the property is a residential none conforming use in a commercial zone. Any changes to the property will need to go through City planning department first. I have CC Dan and Julie with our planning department to help answer any question you might have.

I think the answer is both. New line from the road and meter. I couldn't locate the main from the road yesterday while digging in the yard. The former owner seems to think it is the PVC pipe I found 8" below ground, that doesn't seem right to me. And there was a bend to it.

Hello Teresa,

To help guide you through the process, I will need to know if you are looking to run a new 1” line from the main or just have a 1” meter installed?

Hi Sam,

On another issue, we had a major water line break when we had our gas line installed last week. We have a plumber lined up to upgrade all our plumbing. He said with the size of property we have, we may want to consider upgrading our main line also. What would the cost be to move up to a 1" line? Everything is such a mess at our meter right now I thought now might be the right time to do it.
