The Newberg City Council met on July 31, 2017 and took the following actions: ● Closed the applications for the Council District 1 vacancy. Interviews will be held at a Special Session on August 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. The four candidates are Helen Brown, Michelle Joslin, Janet Land and Matthew Murray. ● Directed staff to create a charter amendment for the November 7th, 2017 ballot on under levying taxes if the measure to annex into the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue District passes. Both ballot measure referrals will be brought back to the Council as resolutions during a Special Session on August 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
