The Newberg City Council met on July 17, 2017 and took the following actions: ● Proclaimed July 27-30, 2017 as Newberg Old-Fashioned Festival week ● Approved Resolution 2017-3379, Mayor’s Stipend of $300 per month ● Approved Resolution 2017-3396, 2017 Ford Explorer vehicles for Police Department of $61,424. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3388, paving contract with Knife River Corporation for $847,244.60. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3389, North College Street agreement with ODOT with a local match of $274,271.00 ● Approved Resolution 2017-3397, extending the Street Seats program for two years. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3393, referring annexation to Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. ● Approved meeting minutes for June 5, 2017. In other business: ● Tabled Resolutions 2017-3387 and Resolutions 2017-3377, Villa Road contract award and easement agreements, Council Priorities, Newberg 2030 Update and Charter Review to the August 7 Council meeting. ● Newberg Veterans presented on the new banners honoring current active duty military members. ● Heard from KLYC Radio on new programs. ● Heard from a citizen about the assisting the Police Department with lost pets during the Fourth of July. ● Discussed charter review. ● Heard reports from the City Manager and Department Head managers on various activities and operations across the City. ● Heard a report from the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Intergovernmental Agreement Council. ● Heard a report on Affordable Housing Options work done by a community committee.
