Council Roundup for December 18, 2017 The Newberg City Council met on December 18, 2017 and took the following actions: ● Approved Resolution 2017-3424, awarded contract to Whitney Equipment Company for Wastewater plant. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3416, awarded contract to Cartegraph Operations Management System. ● Approved Resolution 2017-3419, awarded contract to Utility Service Partners Private Label, Inc. ● Approved staff request to apply for a Business Oregon grant for Rural Initiative Development ● Approved minutes from November 20, 2017. In other business, the Council: ● Heard on the passing in 2017 of former Mayors Durrell Belanger, the 38th Mayor of the City (1967-1970) and Donna Proctor, the 41st Mayor of the City (1993-1998). ● Heard from a citizen about the potential sale of the Newberg Animal Shelter building. ● Held a work session on Housing Newberg proposals. ● Reviewed land use plans for the 1999 Springbrook Oaks Specific Plan and the 1993 Northwest Newberg Specific Plan ● Held an executive session on pending litigation
