The Newberg City Council met on September 18, 2017 and took the following actions: ● Awarded a contract to Motorola Solutions Inc. for $2,019,576.91 for upgrading the public safety communication system. ● Ratified the Newberg-Dundee Public Safety Union contract by passing Resolution 2017-3410. ● Entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency for the Emergency Communications System Upgrade Project. ● Directed staff to work with Waste Management on starting residential glass recycling on a subscription basis. ● Adopted Ordinance 2017-2820, amending the Municipal Code for marijuana regulations in the Bypass and Airport Overlay subdistricts. ● Approved Council minutes from August 14, 2017 In other business, the Council: ● Met with Chehalem Parks and Recreation District in a joint work session. ● Adopted 13 Council Priorities for 2017-2018. ● Heard an update on the City Manager’s activities. ● Recognized George Fox University’s annual Serve Day with a proclamation.
