The Newberg City Council met on September 16, 2019. The Council took the following actions: ● Approved several resolutions: 2019-3594, Employee Handbook – Longevity Pay. 2019-3596, Riverfront Master Plan acceptance. 2019-3598, Hire of Accounting Clerk II Dawn Nelson, and Project Specialist Karen Tarmichael. 2019-3600, grant application for Housing Bill 2001 needs. 2019-3601, grant application for Economic Opportunity Analysis. 2019-3602, Employment Agreement with Brian Casey for Police Chief services in 2020. ● Accepted recommendations from the City Council Water Redundancy Subcommittee to move forward with Phase II of the study. In other business, Heard from Councilor Mike Corey about his intention to move out of town in October, at which point the District 5 seat will become vacant upon declaration of the City Council.
