Backup to natural gas fired boiler. Previous test results: Boiler 1: 0.08-0.17 and 0.4% (6 tests); Boiler 3: 0.08-0.19 and 0-1% (8 tests); Boiler 4: 0.06-0.10 (4 tests)

3 hogged fuel boilers cannot meet standard, would shut down permanently.  Cannot add control device which requires an air flow system that is incompatible with stacks.

Need great fuel (size & moisture), steady load.  And luck

In 1999, changed fuel auger from a hydraulic drive to variable speed drive and reconnected overfire air system.  In 2000, changed fuel screen size to 3 inches to keep large hunks from getting in boiler.  Seems to have helped PM emissions but didn’t reduce the CO emissions.
