Amendments to Oregon Smoke Management Plan and State Implementation Plan for Air Quality

The Environmental Quality Commission adopted amendments to the Oregon Smoke Management Plan, operated by the Oregon Department of Forestry, and incorporated these amendments into the Oregon Clean Air Act State Implementation Plan in OAR 340-200-0040. DEQ has submitted these amendments to the US Environmental Protection Agency for approval and as a revision to the State Implementation Plan, as the Clean Air Act requires.

EQC made the following actions:

1.  Approved changes to the Oregon Smoke Management Plan under ORS 477.013 as part of chapter 340 of the Oregon Administrative Rules, including Oregon Department of Forestry rule amendments, as provided in the attached addendum to the Commission staff report.

2.  Adopted the proposed amendments to OAR 340-200-0040 seen in Attachment A to incorporate the proposed rules into the Oregon Clean Air Act State Implementation Plan; and

3.  Directed DEQ to submit the SIP revision to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for approval.
