PROPOSED UPDATES TO THE OREGON STATE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN: NITROGEN DIOXIDE, SULFUR DIOXIDE AND LEAD AMBIENT AIR QUALITY STANDARDS

 

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is accepting public comment on proposed permanent rule revisions to update ambient air quality standards to match federally-revised National Ambient Air Quality Standards for nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and lead. In addition, DEQ is proposing to adopt new, 1-hour Significant Air Quality Impact Levels for nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. The amendments, if adopted, will be submitted to the US Environmental Protection Agency for approval as revisions to the Oregon State Implementation Plan, as required by the Clean Air Act.

Comments on this proposal can be presented at the hearing or mailed, faxed or e-mailed to DEQ during the public comment period.  All comments must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 19, 2013.
