Temporary Rule to Update Clean Diesel Grant Program

DEQ proposes to amend a rule to allow the Department to manage federal grants for clean diesel projects in accordance with federal grant guidelines instead of more restrictive state guidelines. This rule will implement SB 249, unanimously approved by the 2013 Oregon Legislature authorizing this change in program guidelines. A temporary rule will be considered at the October 16^th 2013 meeting of the Environmental Quality Commission in order to facilitate timely implementation of grant funded projects intended to protect public health and the environment from adverse effects of exposure to diesel exhaust. A permanent rule will be considered in March 2014.
