Hi Chris,
That’s great. I think your perspective will serve this effort well. It’s my hope that clear regulations (or lack of regulation) will allow both DEQ and emerging CT facilities to focus on things directly important to their missions. I’ll follow up with more details later.
Paula thank you for your e-mail on the dates.
Happy Holidays.
Brian

Hi Brian,
Thank you very much for thinking of Agilyx. We would be pleased and honored to serve on this Advisory Committee. Right now, it looks like either of the two dates you have proposed would work for me. I am copying Paula Burton here – she handles my calendar very effectively and should be cc’d on scheduling related correspondence, if possible.
I think that most of the work we’ll be doing is right up my alley. If the subject matter of the Committee dictates, it may make sense for someone like Kevin DeWhitt (our CTO) or Rita Hansen (VP of Ops/Service, who works closely with clients on the permitting front) to also contribute. I suspect that’s ok with you, but just wanted to toss that out. Regardless, count me/Agilyx in…
Thanks, Brian, and Happy Holidays!
Chris

Subject: Invitation to participate on Conversion Technology Rulemaking Advisory Committee
Hi Chris,
This is a follow-up to the voice-mail I left you today. DEQ is asking for your help in the development of definitions, permitting, performance standards and fees for Conversion Technology Facilities. Our basic problem is that we don’t have specific rules that define or address the regulation of these new Conversion Technology Facilities. We have been using our Treatment Facility rules, but they were not setup for this type of facility.
We are about to begin a rulemaking process to address this and are forming an Advisory Committee to help us develop our rulemaking proposal. We hope to present the proposal to our Environmental Quality Commission for adoption in late 2012.
With your knowledge of Conversion Technologies (especially plastic pyrolysis) , we would very much appreciate Agilyx’s participation on the Advisory Committee. We are looking to schedule our first meeting on either Thursday, January 26th, from 9:00 am – Noon, at our Portland Headquarters, or Friday, January 27th, from 9:00 am – Noon at the same location. Would one or both of those dates and times work for you? If not, are there other dates that would work better for you?
We are expecting to hold from 3 – 6 meetings (possibly more) over the next 6 months. We will also make arrangements to enable full participation by phone.
Please let me know about whether you will be able to participate on the Advisory Committee and, if so, which of the proposed first meeting dates would work for you.
Thank you for your consideration of our request. I look forward to hearing from you and please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Brian Fuller
