Maggie,

There are some issues with section 7. The full budgeted amount for the internal auditor position #2547 (with S&S) for 09-11 is roughly $195,000. For 11-13 it is currently $206,000, if it remains in the budget at all. The position has been vacant in excess of 6 months and will be subject to being cut in the 11-13 budget. How that plays into this contract, I can’t say.

Aside from that, the wording in section 7 needs to be reworked. It appears that you are using 60% of the internal auditor position’s biennial budget to address this work via contract, then breaking that up by fiscal year, but the way you’ve written that is a bit confusing. Also, this contract starts May 1^st and there will only be 2 months left of this biennium left. Why would you use 50% of the biennial budget for 2 months?

Greg or Kerri might know more about the direction of the use of an internal auditor/contract going forward.
