Mary Lou –

Below and are attached are then notices as per your instructions. I forwarded the one to Senator Dingfelder to Palmer, so he has that one also.

Christie –

Please make sure these get to the official rulemaking record – I don’t believe I have access to that.

Thanks

Loretta

Subject: Notice of Proposed DEQ Rulemaking - Oregon E-Cycles registration fee changes

Dear Representative Bailey,

This email complies with ORS 183.335 (15), requiring notice of a proposed Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) rulemaking.

DEQ proposes adopting rules under OAR 340-098 to revise the annual registration fees electronics manufacturers pay under Oregon’s electronic recycling program, Oregon E-Cycles, and to describe DEQ’s process for determining those fees. Currently, about 160 electronics manufacturers pay the registration fee.

Information about the proposed rules are on DEQ’s rulemaking website under E-Cycles registration fee change. The Announcement outlines the public comment and public hearing opportunities and the rulemaking objective.

DEQ plans to recommend the Environmental Quality Commission adopt the proposed fee changes at its June 21 meeting this year.

If you have questions or comments, please call me at 503-229-5808.

Thank you,

Loretta Pickerell
