The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is proposing a rule stating the policy and procedures DEQ would use to evaluate whether or not the removal of J.C. Boyle dam on the Klamath river would comply with the Clean Water Act, should a water quality certification for the project be requested. A water quality certification may be requested if the Secretary of Interior determines that the dam should be removed and a federal license or permit is required. DEQ is seeking public comments by Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 6 p.m.

For more information on the public hearing and how to comment, please see the rulemaking announcement. To view the rulemaking documents, please see DEQ's Klamath River Restoration web page.
