1:30  Discussion – Making connections outside of the NPDES program – Group

Goals: Further clarify the scope of the rulemaking; identify paths to toxics reduction by non-NPDES sources and, discuss/identify a process for addressing issues that are beyond the scope of the rulemaking project.

•  Discuss/identify a process for addressing issues beyond the scope of the rulemaking – if issues are raised that are outside the scope of the immediate rulemaking project, what is the proper venue and path forward?

3:00  Overview of revised criteria – Debra Sturdevant, then Group

•  Share DEQ’s initial calculation of Human Health Water Quality Criteria based on a fish consumption rate of 175 grams/person/day.

•  Begin Group Discussion about issues, ideas and possible approaches to earth metals, particularly arsenic and background pollutants (Note: this topic will continue at the next meeting—this is intended as a start to get the issues/needs out on the table)
