I’m sorry I was unable to attend the meeting yesterday, but I appreciate this opportunity to provide in writing some questions that have been brought to my attention from my constituents regarding the water quality standards used to regulate levels of toxic pollutants in Oregon waterways. If these issues were discussed at your meeting, I’ll look forward to your follow-up summary. If not, I would appreciate your answers at your earliest convenience.

• * How can my constituents access more information on the overall economic impact your proposed regulations will have on agriculture?

• * Why is DEQ choosing to intervene in the regulation of Agriculture and Forestry? If not directly regulating, then why are you proposing these rule changes?

• * What can be done to make sure that the economic impact of DEQ’s water quality regulation is kept to a minimum when it comes to Agriculture and Forestry?
